EVENT GUIDE

ADDRESS OF EVENT 

The venue is the Mountain Raiders BMX Track, located at Lloyd Elsmore Park, Pakuranga, Auckland. Vehicle parking is available in the designated areas around the BMX track – please follow signage and marshal directions on arrival. No roadside parking or stopping is permitted, to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow. Refer to the event site plan for access routes.


AMALGAMATIONS

Will be at the discretion of the National Officiating Director


PARKING

Friday – FREE
Saturday & Sunday – Gold coin donation ($2) per vehicle, supporting a local youth initiative.


Traffic Management (Friday)

  • All access via main Lloyd Elsmore Park entrances on cascades road, and Pakuranga road ( near the netball courts).
  • Warm-up area will be designated on the road near staging.​​​​​​​
  • No parking on street berms adjacent to the track.


Traffic Management (Saturday & Sunday)

  • Spectator access via main entrance.
  • Officials/Disability/Support access from the designated support gate. Via the park’s Bells road entrance 
  • No parking on grass verges or outside marked bays.
  • Warm-up zone on closed internal road – helmets must be worn.


NBR CORPORATE SHIELD

The Nelson Brother Racing Shield is an event based on teams wearing the same race jersey of a commercial or corporate brand. It is held and awarded at the BMX New Zealand North Island Titles. Full details here - BMX New Zealand - NBR Corporate Shield (bmxnz.co.nz)

ALCOHOL & SMOKING 

All BMXNZ Major Events are Smoke, Vape, Drug and Alcohol Free. Please adhere to this ruling, it is for the benefit of the riders & children at the event venue. Smoking or Vaping is not recommended at all, but if you must, please move as far away as possible on to the open fields, well away from the event facility and any track entrances. 


ANIMALS & PETS 

The event is a BMXNZ Major Event where the focus is on the riders & their preparation. No animals are allowed on the event site and there are no exceptions other than registered Working or Guide Dogs. 


BANNERS 

Club or product banners are to be attached to club tents only, do not hang them over any existing signage around the track. Offending Banners will be removed. If you wish to promote other products or services, please contact the host club to arrange an approved display location. 


CLUB MANAGERS MEETING 

A formal catch up with the Officiating Team to debrief the days outcomes and the next day’s plans ahead. All Club Managers must attend.

Friday - 5.00pm 

Saturday - 30min after the last moto has finished 


CODE OF CONDUCT 

The event is a BMXNZ sanctioned event. Please be aware of your riders, your supporters & your own demeanour & attitude at the event. We are here for the riders, most of which are kids. The Sports Code of Conduct applies at all times, in all areas, to all people present, not just the riders. 


EVENT MERCHANDISE 

Pre-ordered items can be ordered online, or bought from onsite store during the weekend.


EVENT RACE PLATES 

ALL riders can collect their plates prior to their first practice session.   This is done during transponder check-in upon confirmation of activated and functioning transponder.  


EVENT RESULTS ONLINE 

Moto draws & results will be available on our.sqorz.com. Live results will be slightly behind the racing and any line call will delay results until an official call is made.

OPENING CEREMONY

All riders and supporters welcome!


PIT GAZEBOs 

Set-up begins 1.30pm Friday 24 Oct in Bells Road (no gazebos trackside- all gazebos to be on either side of closed Bells road)
Trackside allocation provided by the host club. No ropes or pegs in walkways.
Gazebo = Owner responsibility. Secure them well!


WALKWAY / VIEWING STRIP

Keep 1.5m in front of the fence zone clear β€“ gazebos either side of Bells Road, keep middle of road clear for pedestrians. no ropes, pegs, or tied gazebos.
It’s a shared space for everyone.

Friday 24 Oct:

  • 2.00 – 5.40pm: Plate Collection & Transponder Check
  • Practice Sessions:
    • 7yrs & Under: 2.30 – 3.00pm
    • 8–12yrs + Cruiser: 3.00 – 4.20pm
    • 13yrs+, Masters, Cruiser: 4.20 – 5.40pm
    • Championship Riders: 5.40 – 6.10pm

Saturday 25 Oct:

  • 7.00 – 9.40am: Plate Collection & Transponder Check
  • Practice Sessions:
    • 13yrs+, Masters, Cruiser: 7.00 – 8.00am
    • 8–12yrs + Cruiser: 8.00 – 9.00am
    • 7yrs & Under: 9.00 – 9.20am
    • Test Teams: 9.20 – 9.40am
    • Champs: 9.40 – 10.00am

Sunday 26 Oct:

  • 13yrs+, Masters, Cruiser: 7.00 – 7.45am
  • 8–12yrs: 7.45 – 8.30am
  • 7yrs & Under: 8.30 – 8.50am
  • Test Teams: 8.50 – 9.10am
  • Champs: 9.10 – 9.30am


RACE FORMAT 

  • All classes: 6 motos β†’ finals
  • Classes ≀ 8 riders = points over
  • Sprockets: 6 motos, non-competitive

REGISTRATION AND RACE PLATE ALLOCATION​​​​​​​

  • Sprockets: Get event plate at check-in SPROCKETS DO NOT REQUIRE A TRANSPONDER.
  • Challenge/Champs: Event Number plates will only be issued to riders at transponder check-in upon confirmation that their transponder is attached to their bike correctly and is functional.  The event number plate must remain affixed to the bike for the entire event, including all official practice sessions.
  • Registration open:
    • Friday: 2.00 – 5.40pm
    • Saturday: 7.00 – 9.40am


RACE START TIMES

  • Saturday: 11.00am
  • Sunday: 10.00am

No refunds after Friday 25 Oct, unless with medical certificate (admin fee $20).

  • Must be activated with MYLAPS & fitted to front fork
  • Checked at BMXNZ plate collection

RUBBISH / WASTE

Keep it clean – use the bins provided.
Separate recycling/landfill stations will be onsite. Or better yet, take your rubbish home!


STAGING 

Staging will run as per standard format. Club Managers, please help limit riders crowding at pre-staging.
