WORLDS 2026 BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA 16-25 July
UCI BMX Racing Worlds Championships is coming downunder in 2026 to the Sleeman Supercross Track in Brisbane.
As the most accessible Worlds for NZ riders since Auckland in 2013, we're expecting a lot of interest - Slots are limited to 16 riders per age group listed below with primary and wildcard qualification pathways offered.

Note: Age classes in RED above require amalgamation of multiple BMX NZ racing classes and therefore a slightly different primary qualification criteria applies compared to the classes that are consistent between BMX NZ and UCI. See the 2026 Selection Regulations document for details.
Riders under UCI8 are not eligible to enter Worlds.
2026 WORLDS TICKETS ON SALE
BMX Worlds is a ticketed event.
Supporters need to buy tickets to access the venue on practice and race days for both Challenge and Championship classes.
Challenge riders can watch Challenge racing with their rider accreditation but require tickets to watch Championship racing and practice.
Championship riders wanting to watch Challenge racing will need a ticket for the grandstand but can access the public and trackside viewing areas with their rider wristband.

EVENT DATES FOR PLANNING
Worlds will run from July 16-25 incorporating the Championship and Challenge events. New for 2026, the Championship class event will run before the Challenge event. Here are the key dates to consider when thinking about booking travel and accommodation.

The daily racing schedules will only be confirmed early July by UCI, with racing for each class completed within one day. Up to 900 riders compete each day and the schedule determining which classes race on which days can vary from year to year.

WORLDS CHALLENGE PIT CREW
We have a limited number of UCI accreditations for assistant managers to help with the team in the pits on race days and practice days.
We want to ensure that riders have the best possible race experience and support at World Champs. With limited quota places, in the event of over subscription, preference will be given to people experienced with staging, UCI racing, paramedics and bike mechanics.
If you're keen to get behind the curtain, learn the inner workings on the UCI machine and support the NZ Team, Expressions of Interest for these roles are open and the EOI form can be found under APPLICATION FORMS on this page.
Successful applicants will need to consent to NZ Police vetting and complete the Sport Integrity Child Safeguarding online learning course.

Note: parents will not be rostered on the days their riders are racing enabling them to watch from the Grandstands.
