STAND DOWN REQUIREMENTS for concussion

As part of BMXNZ's regulations and the suspected concussion that an individual receives, there is a 3 week stand down from ALL activities - racing & training on a BMX track.

This process is in place to protect riders from secondary brain injuries, which can have extremely dangerous implications.  Please refer below to the BMXNZ ruling covering concussions. (can be found in BMXNZ Rule Book)

To return to riding, a rider must supply to BMXNZ a letter from a doctor clearing the individual (full medical clearance) to be able to return to riding once the 3 week stand down period is complete.

To provide the medical clearance by submitting the 'Concussion Clearance' online form here

Any queries please email: membership@bmxnewzealand.co.nz
