BMX NUMBER PLATES
BMX RACE PLATES
The BMX Race plates identify the types of riders or classes that they race in.
Following are examples of these. There are some simple regulations around the number size, so to make the plate clear & easy to read by officials. Numbers must be a min of 75mm high x 10mm wide and all plates must display a club prefix of a min 25mm in height.
Numbers 1-50 are protected for National rankings. Riders can run their ranking if they have them in the year immediately pre-ceding the event where the ranking was awarded.
An important note, you can only ride your ranking on your plate if the event is of the same level or lower. For example you cannot run your South Island Title ranking at Nationals.
Number plates must be made of plastic or other similar flexible material.
Riders must use the plate and number colour combinations specified for the category in which they are racing as follows:
Championship Level
Men Elite, Women Elite: White plate, Black numbers.
Men U23, Women U23: Grey Plate, White numbers
Men Juniors, Women Juniors: Black plate, White numbers.
Challenge Level
Men, Boys: Yellow plate, Black numbers.
Women, Girls: Blue plate, White numbers.
